Mortal Kombat 1 will have Khameleon as the new Kameo this month

The cast of Mortal Kombat 1 is about to grow even more in January. NetherRealm Studios announced the inclusion of Khameleon as a Kameo character. The combatant will be available from the 16th.

Khameleon, originating in the Nintendo 64 version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy, is the female version of Chameleon. Just like a chameleon, they adapt and “copy” the fighting styles of the game's warriors.

While Chameleon shared the abilities of male ninjas, Khameleon uses the powers of female ninjas, such as Kitana, Mileena and Jade.

After being absent for a period, Khameleon returned in the Wii version of Mortal Kombat Armageddon, being integrated into the plot as a member of Umgadi, led by Tanya. The announcement of the warrior in Mortal Kombat 1 was made as follows:

Kameos are a kind of support character in the reboot's gameplay, so don't expect to use her as the main fighter when she becomes available.

Mortal Kombat 1 tournament will have collaboration between Warner and TopSieteGames

Warner Play Latino announced a collaboration with TopSieteGames, an organization specializing in Esports, for the new edition of its Mortal Kombat 1 invitational tournament, which will be played in a 5v5 format throughout Latin America.

In the tournament, five competitors from each country will face five others from a different country, to show who the best fighters in the region are. The country that manages to eliminate five players from the opposing team will advance to the next phase.

The countries participating in the Mortal Kombat 1 tournament will be divided into LATAM North and LATAM South. Each region will have its own champion, who will face each other in the in-person Grand Final to decide the Latin American champion. Representatives from each region will be as follows:

• LATAM North: Mexico, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Puerto Rico.
• LATAM South: Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru

The winning team will receive a prize of US$250, and the winner of the North VS South Grand Final will win US$2,000, in addition to the title of grand Latin American champion.
